Since ZAKA’s establishment and until today, you have arrived at every disaster scene in order to fulfill your mission out of commitment and respect. Whenever and wherever in the world the call goes out, you act with uncompromising professionalism, with efficiency and remarkable sensitivity. You have made ZAKA into an organization with an international reputation. Recently ZAKA was granted consultative status at the UN, which only serves to strengthen its standing in the international community and reflects the importance of its work.
IDF commanders and soldiers are very familiar with your important work and express their appreciation. On behalf of the IDF, I would like to express my esteem and gratitude for your contribution to the citizens of the State of Israel.
-Lt. Gen Gadi Eizenkot, IDF Chief of Staff
To help the Jewish people…ZAKA does this willingly and in an awe-inspiring manner, in Israel and globally. I hope that you will be without work here and overseas but, unfortunately, for the near future, there is little expectation in this hope. Therefore, I wish to strengthen you in the important work that you do in Israel and around the world.
-Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel
At this evening of gratitude and appreciation for the ZAKA volunteers, I say to you on behalf of the entire Israeli government: Congratulations!
The gratitude and appreciation that we shower on you tonight is for one more important message that you give to the people of Israel with your daily volunteering activities.
-MK Gilad Erdan, Minister of Public Security
ZAKA volunteers are pioneers, leading the pack. We see them at every incident, helping others, rescuing lives, honouring the dead. Their dedication has become world-renowned. ZAKA and its volunteers are a prime example of sharing the burden in Israeli society.
-Reuven Rivlin, President of Israel
